FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. How does SpaWhite™ work?
A. SpaWhite™ is guaranteed to rapidly produce a noticeably
brighter and whiter smile. SpaWhite™ is the only process currently
available that will give you such dramatic results in a very short time
in an easy, convenient process without a dentist or a dentist price. See
our technology page to see how SpaWhite™ works or click
here.
Q. Why have my teeth
stained?
A. Over time, our teeth are stained by foods such as, coffee,
sodas, chocolate, wine, smoking, and all sorts of other foods that would
pretty much stain a white tee shirt.
Q. Does teeth whitening
work on crowns?
A. SpaWhite™ works on natural tooth structure only. If you have
veneers, composite (white) fillings, implants or other synthetic tooth
structures or enhancements, they will not be affected by the whitening
process. The color of these structures will remain as they were when
installed.
Q. Will SpaWhite™ work on
everyone?
A. SpaWhite™ works on anyone with healthy teeth and gums.
Different individuals have different natural tooth color. Grey toned teeth do
not respond as well as yellow toned teeth. Your teeth will never be
whiter than their natural tooth color. As good as SpaWhite™ is, it, or
any other teeth whitening process, can not alter your genetic traits.
Q. Is there anyone who
should not whiten their teeth?
A. SpaWhite™ is not recommended for women who are pregnant or
nursing or children who are under 14 years of age. It is also not
recommended if you are allergic to hydrogen peroxide or any of the
ingredients. If you have tooth decay, significant enamel
demineralization, periodontal (gum) disease, irritation or bleeding
gums, you should not engage the SpaWhite™ process until these conditions
have been successfully resolved by a dentist.
Q. What if I have
sensitive gums? Can I still bleach my teeth?
A. Most people with healthy teeth and gums will experience no
discomfort during the SpaWhite™ process. Occasionally, gum or lip
discomfort is experienced by particularly sensitive individuals. To
prevent this, lightly coat the affected areas with petroleum jelly. Be
careful to avoid getting any of the petroleum jelly on the teeth. A
slight blanching of the gums is common and normal. This is a temporary
reaction to the whitening process and is not harmful to your teeth or
gums. It usually disappears in less than a day.
Q. How long does one
whitening treatment take?
A. 15 minutes. Most people see a difference of four shades with
the SpaWhite™ Express treatment, which takes 15 minutes. We also have
SpaWhite™ Silver, the 30 minute treatment, to get your teeth as white as
possible, all in one sitting.
Q. How long will one
whitening treatment last?
A. One year or more, depending on many individual factors,
including current condition and age of your teeth, diet, alcohol and
tobacco consumption, genetics and dental, general and periodontal
health. Brushing and flossing will help keep your teeth whiter, longer.
There is no definite answer as to how long the whitening effect will
last. Another treatment is recommended in about six months.
Q. How long before I can
eat after a treatment?
A. For a minimum of 24 hours after the process, avoid consuming
coffee, tea, dark colored soda, red wine, berries, candy, red sauces,
beets, chocolate or any other foods that have a propensity to stain your
teeth. A good guideline is, if it stains a white shirt, it will stain
your teeth.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS ABOUT WhiteIce™
Q. How do I get the
WhiteIce™ stick into the nooks and crannies on and between my teeth?
A. The WhiteIce™ material emulsifies with saliva and disappears.
This is how the material gets between teeth and uniformly onto irregular
tooth surfaces, providing total coverage without your needing to force
the stick.
Q. I’ve never whitened my
teeth before. Will WhiteIce™ alone do the trick?
A. Maybe. WhiteIce™ is intended as a maintenance product. It’s an
antidote to exposure to foods that stain teeth. However many patients
find that use of WhiteIce™ actually improves whiteness over time. For
best results, use a White Science primary whitener, such as SpaWhite™ or
SolarWhite.
Q. How long will the
WhiteIce™ stick last?
A. With normal use, you should get about 20 upper and lower
applications.
Q. How often can I use the
WhiteIce™ stick?
A. Daily use is recommended on upper and lower teeth and is
normally sufficient. If used more frequently, you may experience slight
digestive discomfort. If this occurs, decrease usage frequency.
Q. Must I brush or rinse
my mouth after using WhiteIce™?
A. It is recommended. Wait at least 10 minutes before rinsing or
brushing. Alternately, you may use one of the Deep Cleaning Wipes
supplied with your WhiteIce™ stick.
Q. Is there a time when I
should stop using WhiteIce™ stick?
A. Occasionally but rarely users experience indigestion,
heartburn, tooth sensitivity or gum irritation. If you experience any of
these symptoms, discontinue use of the WhiteIce™ stick and contact your
physician or dentist. These symptoms can be indications of illness that
may require professional intervention.
Q. If my teeth have been
professionally whitened by a dentist do I still need to use WhiteIce™
stick?
A. Yes. Teeth
are bombarded daily with foods and beverages that conspire to dull your
smile. The WhiteIce™ stick is an easy way to protect your investment in
your nice, white smile.
